South Carolina vs Troy: NCAA Football Result and Live Coverage on ESPN3.com – The battle for NCAA College Football continues and the 17th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks are fresh off an emotional victory as they take their time now for a SEC play against their rival Try Trojans of the Sun Belt Conference this Saturday afternoon. The Troy vs South Carolina will start at exactly 12:21 pm ET, Saturday, November 19, 2010.
Apparently, the Troy has suffered losses in two of its last three games to fall to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in league play. Last weekend, the team struggled mightily on defense in a 52-35 loss to FIU.
Troy posted 411 total yards and five offensive touchdowns in last weekend’s game against FIU, but it obviously wasn’t enough. Robinson threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns, but he was also intercepted twice. Harris had one rushing touchdown and Shawn Southward added two scores on the ground.
Troy freshman quarterback Corey Robinson is 23rd in FBS with 2,553 yards but has thrown at least two interceptions in four consecutive games. He had two passes picked off in last Saturday’s 52-35 home loss to Florida International.
Last weekend, the Gamecocks secured a trip to their first-ever SEC Championship Game with a 36-14 victory over Florida. The win was obviously special for USC head coach Steve Spurrier, who achieved fame as both a coach and a player at Florida.
South Carolina could use a strong performance from Lattimore to avoid another letdown following a big win. The Gamecocks upset then-No. 1 Alabama 35-21 on Oct. 9 as Lattimore scored three times, but his three TDs weren’t enough the next week in a 31-28 road loss to a Kentucky team which had lost three straight.
Nevertheless, the Gamecocks, who clinched the SEC Eastern Division championship, earned their first-ever win over the Gators in Gainesville. They are 7-3 overall and will meet Auburn for the SEC title after the conclusion of the regular season.
