Michigan's Denard Robinson and Mississippi State's Pernell McPhee.
The Gator Bowl matchup appears to be set: Michigan vs. Mississippi State.
The Times-Union has learned from sources within the selection committee that Michigan (7-5) from the Big Ten will take on Mississippi State (8-4) from the Southeastern Conference for the 66th Gator Bowl on Jan. 1 at EverBank Field.

The Bulldogs, coached by former UF assistant coach Dan Mullen, will be making their first Gator Bowl appearance and will be the first SEC team to play in the Gator Bowl since Tennessee in 1994.

Michigan, led by dynamic quarterback Denard Robinson, has made two appearances in the Gator Bowl and has won both, the last against Ole Miss in 1990.
